Early Childhood Services:
A-TCAA offers half day preschool experience to prepare children, ages three to five, for kindergarten at no cost to parents and full-day childcare at low or no cost for parents who are working, going to school, seeking employment or have a referral from Child Welfare. Preschool children may be enrolled at the Head Start Center or in a Home-Based Program. Head Start Programs provide child enrichment, education, health, nutritional and developmental services as well as parent education and involvement opportunities. Last year a total of 214 children participated in preschool programs in Amador and Tuolumne Counties.
Position Definition:
As part of the ATCAA Team the Early Childhood Services Management Assistant plays an essential role in ATCAA as a whole. The Early Childhood Services Management Assistant performs a wide variety of complex and responsible secretarial, clerical duties, and provides budget management assistance to the Early Childhood Services Director. The Management Assistant serves as “first contact” in the office and on the telephone, providing information to the public as well as Early Childhood Services potential families and applicants. The Management Assistant provides organizational and programmatic support to the Early Childhood Services Director, Early Childhood Services program staff, and Early Childhood Services Policy Council.

Minimum Qualifications: ECS Management Assistant:
- Strong organizational and secretarial skills
- Ability to work well with minimum supervision and direction
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Three years experience in a clerical position with increasing responsibilities
- Demonstrated computer expertise in a networked computer environment effectively using standard business software applications including MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Access, and typing 45 words per minute
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects, meeting organizational requirements for timeliness, efficiency and accuracy
- Preparing business correspondence and reports applying appropriate grammar, spelling and punctuation
- Ability to correctly perform basic mathematical computations, including developing formulas in MS Excel
- Meet the following program requirements necessary for this position: Possess a valid California driver’s license, an acceptable driving record, and fingerprint clearance
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to interact with others professionally as a member of a team
Desired Qualifications:
- Associates Degree in Office Management or related field
- Purchasing experience
- Ability to communicate in Spanish
- Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office Software
