The Short and Tall Golf Tournament is back!
This just in from Mentoring Works!
The 2nd Annual Short and Tall Golf Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, October 1st Check in starts at 8:30 a.m. with a 9 a.m. shotgun start at the Phoenix Lake Golf course. The Short and Tall Golf Tournament benefits the Mentoring Works program and teams are made up of one adult and one child. The tournament will be played with alternate shot over nine holes. At each hole a game or surprised is planned.
“We promise to keep you smiling from beginning to end,” said Elena Linehan, coordinator of the Mentoring Works program. “Our committee is coming up with wonderful games, prizes and obstacles for the course. It will be like a miniature golf course, but the challenge and the fun will be full sized.”
Mentoring Works is a program of the Amador Tuolumne Community Action Agency. Mentoring Works provides one-on-one matches between caring adults and children needing a friend. Research shows that boys and girls with such role models are more likely to make better choices about drugs and alcohol, and avoid risky and violent behaviors.
The entry fee for the Short and Tall Charity Golf Tournament is $50 per player. Registration is required. Please call for registration deadline. Registration includes green fees, a golf cart rental for each team, tee prizes, and lunch. Live music will be provided by the Left Overs. This is an alcohol free event.
Mentoring Works is also accepting donations for raffle prizes and hole sponsorships. For more information call 533-1397 and ask for Elena Linehan at extension 229.
